Mediterranean Friendship Triathlon

Post by birkirkarastjosephsc on Tue May 06, 2008 12:09 pm

What a show! We have again proved, if proof was ever needed, that we at triathlon rank with the best. Donatelle did us proud, Danica re-wrote the definition of the spirit of triathlon, Brian and Michael sang the old adage “Bhall-imbid aktar ma jimmatura aktar jitjieb” all the way, and this with our younger guns still to unleash their true potential. Keith just wasn’t his day, Fabio out with a puncture and Mark yet to oil his engines properly.

But above all, a huge pat on the back to the organizers, time-keepers, marshals, helpers, etc. Again, what a show. Notwithstanding our severe limitations, we are able to produce an event the envy of one and all. The organization was second to none, almost flawless. Transition area, to mention just a segment, was a gem. A big thank you to Messrs. Joseph F. Spiteri and their team headed by our own Oswald.

When we won the Ghaqda Kittieba Sports’ Sportivi Nazzjonali award for the best event for 2006, it was certainly no flash in the pan. We’ve come a long way from the 80’s and 90’s. Manwel and co. has set themselves high standards. May everyone contribute towards their endeavours for the good of the sport we love.

Hi to All.

Well done to all the athletes competing in the Mediterranean Friendship Triathlon. It's a pity I couldn't be present or racing but at least I could see the photos. Well done and thumbs up.

Regards to all.

A big well done to all finishers considering the heat piling up troughout the race...and a big apology from me for giving up after I punctured...a special thanks goes to the organisers for setting up a good spacious transition and organising a good race !!
